Auto Racing Capsules: New-look Williams hails 'fresh start' for 2012
LONDON (AP) — With an overhauled car and a new driver, Williams hailed a “fresh start” as the team looks to bounce back from its worst season in Formula One. The British-based team allowed a sneak peek Tuesday of its new FW34 at preseason testing in Jerez, Spain, with the car designed by new technical director Mike Coughlan having fewer than 5 percent of the parts from last year’s car and also a new engine supplier in Renault. With Bruno Senna replacing Rubens Barrichello as the new partner of Pastor Maldonado, team principal Frank Williams is confident of improving on the five points earned in 2011, saying “we feel ready and strong for the fight.” Williams dominated F1 in the 1980s and ’90s, winning nine constructors’ championships and seven drivers’ titles.

Barrichello considering move to IndyCar after test
Formula One driver Rubens Barrichello spent a third day Wednesday testing for KV Racing Technology. Although a move to IndyCar was not imminent, the Brazilian is definitely considering the series for 2012. Barrichello was scheduled to test Monday and Tuesday at Sebring International Raceway, then stayed an additional half day Wednesday to drive friend Tony Kanaan’s car in the morning session

AP source: Barrichello to test for KV Racing
Rubens Barrichello will test an IndyCar next week for KV Racing, The Associated Press has learned. The Formula One driver is scheduled to be at Sebring International Raceway next Monday and Tuesday, a person familiar with the test told AP on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the 2-day test session is exploratory for both Barrichello and the race team. Barrichello has spent the last 19 seasons in Formula One, but was replaced last week at Williams by Bruno Senna.
